When people get sick or become injured, they go to the doctor, explain their symptoms and receive the appropriate care. With pets, however, things aren’t always this straightforward. Because animals can’t speak, they can’t always alert us when something is bothering them.
Additionally, many animals, especially exotics, can hide the signs of illness allowing it to develop and worsen as it continues to go undetected.
Veterinary diagnostics enable us to identify and treat medical issues promptly. A faster diagnosis of illness and injury can vastly dramatically increase the chances of a positive outcome.
All Pets Veterinary Center’s on-site diagnostic laboratory makes it fast and efficient to run a wide variety of tests. In many cases, we can have the answers we need in just minutes. This means we can have a treatment plan in place before you and your pet even leave the exam room. More extensive or specialized testing will be sent to a local laboratory when necessary.
When a physical exam and lab testing aren’t enough to reach a diagnosis, we turn to advanced imaging technology, including x-rays and ultrasound. These tools enable us to evaluate the bones and internal organs, identify injuries and abnormalities and determine their severity.
Digital images can be reviewed by our doctors in real-time or shared electronically with specialists if necessary.
If your pet has been acting a bit out of sorts lately, don’t take chances. Give All Pets Veterinary Center a call right away. We’ll get to the bottom of the problem and get your best friend back on the path to good health again.
