Meet the folks who make it all happen. We see big potential in every moment, & care deeply about what we do every day.
Everyone has that one thing which brings them joy and pleasure in life. For Dr. Jewell, that source of pleasure and contentment has always been animals. Ever since she got a dog for the first time as a young child, she was immediately drawn to the love and companionship they offered. Now as a veterinarian, chief medical officer and owner of All Pets Veterinary Center, she relishes the opportunity to meet and help save new animals every day!
Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Dr. Jewell’s two main interests growing up were sports and animals. She would end up attending Miami University in Ohio, where she earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Zoology. After taking a post-graduate position as a zookeeper, she felt the need to continue pursuing her studies, so she applied and was accepted into the veterinary program at Auburn University. After years of studying hard, learning a ton and gaining valuable hands-on experience at various animal clinics and vet offices throughout the country, she was ready to branch out and start her own vet clinic.
Dr. Jewell enjoys several different facets of her job, from the diversity of her patients, to performing dental-related procedures on them. The thing she loves most is teaching people how to properly care for their pets and minimize diseases. To her, the world of veterinary medicine provides the ultimate opportunity to help people understand the joys of animal companionship.
In her free time, Dr. Jewell enjoys traveling, scuba diving and watching Sci-Fi programs with her husband. They share their lives with 16 pets, which consists of 3 dogs, 3 cats, 4 rabbits, 4 birds and an iguana. The boisterous animals all have their own unique personalities and keep Dr. Jewell thoroughly entertained!
When Dr. Chelsea was a young child, she was obsessed with cats. As she got older and was able to explore more of her small agricultural town, she discovered the many different kinds of animals that people were allowed to keep domestically. This sparked an interest in learning more about how to care for them, which ultimately shaped Dr. Chelsea’s desire to pursue a career in the veterinary field.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University, Dr. Chelsea landed a job as a veterinary assistant. Working hands-on in a clinic allowed her to learn the ins and outs from the professionals before going on to attend veterinary school herself. She graduated from Ross University in 2022 and joined the All Pets Veterinary Center team shortly thereafter.
Professionally, Dr. Chelsea appreciates the fact that no two days are the same. She has a special interest in working with exotics because she loves all creatures (except for spiders). She looks forward to meeting your furry, scaly or feathered baby!
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.”
